What are Actions?
An action is the finish line for most automations. After deciding when to trigger an automation and what criteria to filter your database, the action decides what actually happens to this subset of contacts. From sending an email or retagging a set of contacts, actions define what we want to do with our automation.
You can specify multiple actions within your automation.
Available list of actions and their definitions:
|A standard email action. You can customise this as much as you would a regular campaign email, setting your template, frequency and subject.|
|SMS||A standard SMS action. With new government regulations in place, you need to register a Sender ID to ensure your texts don't get held by a telco.|
|Webhook||Sends data to a unique URL. Ensure you have the correct key to authenticate the webhook.|
|Notify via Email||Define a notification email that is sent to a staff member.|
|Notify via SMS||Similar to 'Notify via Email' but as a SMS instead.|
|Set Contact Field||Sets a Contact Field to a specific value (or empty). This can also be used to add contacts to a specific tag.|
|Add Delay||Sets an timed delay before the next criteria or action is triggered. This can be useful to sync processes up or to run a process early but send an email later.
Delays are often used prior to Criteria blocks that check for specific actions. For example, after sending an email to a contact, you can add a 3 day delay before then checking if the message was opened.
|Unset Options||Clears a value from the Contact's profile. This can be used to remove a Tag.|
|Resend Email||Resend an email that was previously sent to the contact within this automation flow. When selecting this action, you are then required to choose any Email block within the automation that will be resent.|
|Resend SMS||Similar to 'Resend Email' action however, it will allow for resending sms messages to Contacts.|
