How to attach modifiers to menu items

Modifiers created in your POS will show in the modifiers database. Your modifiers may exist in your POS without being attached to any menu item (global options). If this is the case, you're able to attach them to each menu item in Mr Yum.

1. How to create a new modifier group

1. Go to Your Menu > Menu Items.
2. Find the item you want to edit and click on the menu item text to open it.
3. Click View item modifiers and upsells.
4. Click Add new Modifier Group.
5. Name the group. For example, "Remove", "Add", etc.
6. Select Type should be multi so customers can select more than one item on the list.
7. Select whether a selection is required or optional by the customer.
8. Select Display Options whether the list of modifiers would be Collapsed, Expanded or Hidden.
   1. Collapsed: A drop list occurs when this option is selected. It is ideally used to make the menu item look neater. It can be selected when selecting dietary requirements.
   2. Expanded: A visible list where the customer can choose what they want and select from the relevant options.
   3. Hidden: The modifier is hidden from the menu but is visible when the receipt has been printed in the kitchen. Commonly used for set menus.
   For a group to be hidden, it must be required and have a single selection
9. For Ordering Type, keep it blank if you want it to be available in all ordering types. This is used as a filter. If you want the modifier group to appear on dine-in menu only, select dine-in.
10. Click Create.
11. Add modifiers to your group by typing them into the add modifier section under your new group and selecting the modifier when it appears.
12. Check the details are correct, especially the price.
    Make sure that the modifier group ID is DoshiiGlobalOptions.

2. How to add a new modifier to an existing modifier group 

1. Go to Your Menu > Menu Items.
2. Find the item you want to edit and click on the menu item text to open it.
3. Click View item modifiers and upsells.
4. Type in the name of your new modifier where it says add modifier next to the search icon.
   
5.  Select the modifier, and check that details such as the price and modifier group ID are correct.

3. How to rearrange modifiers and modifier groups for menu items 

1. Go to Your Menu  Menu Items.
2. Find the item you want to edit and click on the menu item text to open it.
3. Click the view item modifiers and upsells (located at the top).
4. Click the Position button in the top corner.
5. Click and drag the three lines next to the modifiers to move them within their groups.
6. Click the three lines next to modifier groups to move them around between the groups.

How to edit your modifiers' name

1. Go to Your Menu  Menu Items.
2. Find the item you want to edit and click on the menu item text to open it.
3. Click on View item modifiers and upsells.
4. If you want to edit a modifier click the pen and pad icon next to the modifier you want to change.
   
5. Change the name of your modifier by typing it into the Modifier Name section.
