How to add new items when you are POS integrated

This article explains how to add new items when your venue is POS integrated.

If you are using any of the following POS systems you can easily link your items from your POS into Mr Yum following the below steps:

Square, Kounta, Impos, H&L, Micros, Revel, Lightspeed K series, Touch Bistro, Toast

Instructions:

Adding Items:

  1. Go to Your Menu > Menu Items.
  2. Click Bulk Operations
  3. Click Import from POS
  4. Search up the item that you want with the Search Bar
  5. Choose which items you want to put on your menu by clicking on the Checkbox.
  6. Once the checkbox is ticked, click on Import Items (shows up on the top of the list above name, replacing the search bar)
  7. Choose where you want it to go.
  8. Go back to Your Menu Menu Items the category where you've imported your item
  9. Click on the item Turn on the toggle "Visible on Menu"

Import

Adding modifiers:

Your modifiers will automatically pull into the items when you import the items. So no need to do any extra work here!

If you are using any of the following POS systems you can easily link your items from your POS into Mr Yum following the below steps:

H&L, Abacus, Idealpos, Bepoz, Lotus, Wizbang, Maitre D

Adding Items:

  1. Go to Your Menu > Menu Items.
  2. Click into the category you want to add an item in — e.g. it might be called Food or drinks — or refer to creating categories, sections & items to create a new category.
  3. Click an existing item or refer to creating categories, sections & items to create a new item.
  4. In the Item Information, enter your item's product code in the POS ID field. In the example, replace "xxx" with your item's product code.
  5. Click Update or Create if it is a new item.

Your product codes are available through your POS system. Refer to POS Integrations for a guide on how to find your product codes.

Modifiers, known as variants or options by some POS systems, also require a product code. Some POS systems will sync modifier product codes directly to your Manage Mr Yum platform, saving you valuable time!

If your POS system syncs with your Manage Mr Yum platform, new modifiers should be added through your POS system.
 
Adding Modifiers:
  1. Go to Your Menu > Modifiers.
  2. Click on one of your modifiers or refer to Creating and managing modifiers to create a new modifier.
  3. Enter your product code in External POS ID or External POS group ID if it's part of a group. 
  4. Click Update or Create if it's a new modifier.
