Dynamic Content (also known as conditional content) refers to the ability to automatically change the content of your email campaign based on the details of the receiver.
We provide an easy way to make content conditional based on any contact fields that have been setup within your account. This includes:
- Email / Phone Number
- Anniversary Date
- Any other data being captured via Forms
- Data populated within your account via 3rd party integrations.
Sprout allows multiple conditions to be set as criteria for dynamic content. There is no set maximum and any number of Contact Fields can be utilised.
For example, an email campaign can display a certain image or heading for users that are Male with an upcoming Birthday.
Creating Dynamic Content
Each row of your content can be made conditional. Hover over a row and select "Edit Row". Then click the "Make Conditional".
Within the Conditional Content dialog, you will need to specify the criteria with regards to who can see this block. For example, if you specify the criteria as "Gender [equals] Female", then only users that are Female will be able to see the selected row.
Clicking "Add New Condition" will allow you to specify additional criteria for display for that specific row.
Any or All Criteria?
When specifying the criteria, you are able to select the query type:
- Show this content if "All" conditions are met
Selecting this option will result in users only seeing the content if their profile matches every single criteria specified.
- Show this content if "Any" conditions are met
Selecting this option will result in users seeing the content when one or more criteria matches their profile.
When wanting to show & hide different content (eg: banner images) to users based on their preferences, you will need to create both rows. Each row will then contain the criteria to dictate who can see (eg: Males can see the beer banner and females can see the cocktail banner - with this method, only one banner will ever been shown and this will depend on the user's gender).
